WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH MEETINGS?
Meetings
are an essential part of getting things done. You loathe meetings not
because of meetings themselves but because they are inappropriate or
poorly run. Sometimes meetings are very rewarding. You already know
why you dislike meetings. You've been there and you've experienced difficult
people and the organisational chaos that wastes everyone's time and
angers them. This means that you already know, deep down, what makes
brilliant meetings. If you can identify the problems with meetings,
then you know what must be done to overcome them and make meetings brilliant.
At the
end of this exercise I'll give you my definition of a brilliant meeting.
For just
seven minutes jot down quickly in the spaces provided, at least ten
things that make the meetings you attend a waste of time.
